Treasure Chest Thursday: Ola Davidson’s High School Diploma

This is the diploma of my husband’s grandmother, Ola Louise Davidson Weeks. It looks like it’s been through quite a bit!

I’m not sure what year she graduated in, but she was born in 1915, so probably in the early 30′s. She went to Tonganoxie High School in Tonganoxie, Leavenworth, KS.

(Not So) Wordless Wednesday: Grandpa’s 5/6th grade Class: Monitor, WA 1928

This is the 5th/6th grade class at Monitor School in Monitor, WA, dated 1928.

My grandpa, Donald Sanchez, is the boy on the second row down, far left. He looks so much like my brother David at that age, I can’t believe it! He must have been around 10 in this picture.

I’m not quite sure how long my grandpa’s family lived in the Monitor area, but I don’t think that it was very long. They had moved from Minnesota and ended up moving on to Western Washington, where my grandpa spent the rest of his life.

This is my grandma’s report card/high school transcript from Ballard High School in Seattle, WA. Her maiden name was Eleanore Bergman. She went on to become a nurse.

I wonder what she would think of me posting her grades for the world to see…

This is another 1910s schoolroom. It said Juanita Sanchez on the back. She was my Grandpa Don’s sister and was born in 1906. They lived in Minnesota. A good portion of this postcard-type picture was ripped off. I am not sure if she is actually in the remaining portion of the picture or not. I love looking around at the things in the background.

A portion of this postcard-style picture was torn off. On the back, it says Pearl Sanchez, Atwater (in Minnesota). Pearl was my Grandpa Don’s oldest sister. She was born in 1901, so this was probably taken around 1910 (just a guess). I think that she may be the girl in the very front (closest). I am not sure, but she has the Sanchez look to her.
