I took the plunge  last year and haphazardly uploaded a tree.  I made my tree public, because my goal is to share the info that I have and to hopefully find fellow researchers.  I chose to use the privacy settings to protect information on living individuals, which I think that most people do.

I have been happy so far with having the tree posted.  I have connected with other researchers.  I have added some more branches to my tree.

But I’m not satisfied.

One of the problems I’ve had is that every person that I didn’t have a death date for was listed as “Living”.  Even people who had children that died in the early 1800′s.

Maybe I made a mistake in my upload. Did I accidentally click a wrong box?

Instead of doing something about it immediately, of course I let it sit and I added to it.

I would try uploading another tree, but I already have a ton of pictures and documents and sources connected to this one.

So, I’m at a standstill on what to do.  Manually changing everyone in the tree from “living” to their actual name doesn’t sound very appealing.  But neither does uploading a new tree and reattaching documents and pictures.

Any ideas?  Is there a better way to solve my problem?

Should I just leave it as is and change a little at a time as I go along?

I’d love to hear your thoughts!  Especially if you have a magically easy answer for me.
