I started a blog re-design this past week, but haven’t quite finished it yet. There are a lot of pages and links that aren’t up and running, but I hope that they will be soon! Please tell me – what do you think of the new layout so far?
We’ve had such a busy month and it’s only going to get busier!
We moved (a few streets away) and setting up a new house always takes a while.
We also just got a shipment of things that have been sitting in storage for the past year. I now have picture frames and knick-knacks and more furniture. Unfortunately, I’m the world’s worst picture-hanger – it almost cripples me trying to decide where to hang things.
I’ve been taking pictures for friends a few times a week – everyone I know is moving in the next couple of weeks and I’m getting some good photography practice with willing models.![]()
My in-laws will be coming for a visit and we’re so excited to see them!
My husband will be graduating from the Sergeants Major Academy – and he’ll be taking over a battalion. His work days are about to get much longer…
Lots of things happening that are unfortunately keeping me from genealogy.
I’ve had cousins contact me with leads and I haven’t had much of a chance to follow up on them yet. I WILL carve out some time for some serious in-depth research, but it probably won’t be until the dust settles in July.
Well, on to my favorite finds….

Nice job! But reconsider the width. Not everyone has a wide-screen monitor. Although the recommended width is/used to be 800px by now ‘most’ people have at least 1024px. If you go wider than that some of us have to scroll sideways to see all your content.
Do you have to scroll sideways to see my content? The middle portion is set at 1024px. It’s hard for me to test this out since I can see it all on both of my computers!!
I was having to scroll sideways but it’s fine now. Did you change it or was it my fault? Oops, I had my page view magnified.
Your site looks great, I think (now that I can see it
) Are you planning to add a sidebar?
Rats! I moved my bookmarks. I had one for checking how your site looks in different browsers (try Googling ‘browsershots’) and another one for checking a site at varying widths. Shuffle, shuffle through my archives here…
Thanks for the mention! I really like the new website. I love the clean lines.
I didn’t change anything, so I’m not sure why it was doing that. If it causes people problems though, I would like to change it.
I like the new layout, LOVE the hot air balloon photos and am most grateful for the mention!
I like the clean look of the redesign. I don’t have any issues viewing it on my computer.
I like it! My only comment is that the portion with the favorite finds is a little small and harder for this old lady to read
Thanks for the mention! Love the look of your site…I’m having the hardest time trying to get that settled on mine.
I agree with you on that Debi!! I need to figure out where that option is on my dashboard and change it. I bugs me too!!
Very nice redesign! Although the Blogroll tab may not be showing all of your blogs. Or maybe it ends in the “I” section of the Alphabet?? I don’t see a way to make it scroll down to see the rest of the list. Also, the color of the links is a bit light.
Other than those potential issues, it’s great! I love your photo slideshow at the top, by the way.
And I LOVE your photos! They’re awesome!
Thanks for the shout-out, Jen…
