First of all, I would like to wish a very happy Veterans Day to all of you out there – especially those of you who served. I’d like to give a special thanks to my wonderful husband, who has been in the Army for over 23 years.
This post is a bit later than normal, but I’ve been super busy and also under the weather. Not a good combination. I’m thankful for this 4-day weekend of rest and relaxation.
This week’s favorite finds…
- I love family treasures – who doesn’t? It seems like spinster aunts and bachelor uncles often end up with treasured heirlooms. It’s nice to hear when they have been passed on to another family member rather than eventually sold at an auction someday. I shudder at the thought. Jill over at Geniaus ended up with quite the treasure from her English cousin!
- I’m loving everyone’s Veteran’s Day posts – especially the pictures! Here are a few of the ones I enjoyed: Remembrance Day at Genealogy: Pilgrimage Through the Past, Remembering Veterans and Veterans Within My Family at Have You Seen My Roots?, Veterans Day at Transylvanian Dutch, Veterans Day – Honoring Those Who Served at Documenting the Details, and Veterans Day 2011: I Remember Kenny at Destination: Austin Family.
And a few pics from this week:
