Sorry to hear you are unable to start ProGen right now. I'm more than half finished - we end in April. It has been a wonderful experience but if my life was any crazier and busy I would not be able to do it. Definitely takes committed time each month. You could buy the book if you haven't already and read some of the chapters though depending on what your goals are right now.

Another affirmation here about your decision, Jen, and mine comes from an "older" season of life. Here's my take on the last 30+ years of my genealogy bug...I see it in decades now, and the perspective helps. I, too, was researching and contacting family while raising my children, somewhat as a sanity point I think;) During that second decade, they were junior and senior high age, so many activities held me nicely captive. In the third decade I've awakened to wonderful opportunities with the internet, and have more flexibility to consider trips for research and visiting family -- and I SO look forward to both in the coming months and years.

I might just do that Amy. I have owned the book for about 6 years and I did read it when I first purchased it, but it's been sitting on my shelf ever since. :)

Sounds like you made the right choice with all that going on. I'm right there with ya and would like to do some more genealogy education but the time just isn't there. Good luck with your hectic schedule and your goals.
