Treasure Chest Thursday: Norwegian Bible

This is the Bible that my great-grandmother, Patricia Matilda Melhus Sanchez brought with her when she immigrated to the U.S. from Norway in the 1880’s.   It has her name and “Franklin, Minnesota” written on the first page.  It also has her brother Palmer’s name written in the back (looks like it was written by a child in cursive).

It is now in the possession of my mother and I took some pictures of it while visiting this August.

As you can see, it is starting to come apart in a few places, but for being over 100 years old, it’s in pretty good shape.
