Conferences

I am jealous.

I have yet to make it to a big conference.  I have yet to make it to Salt Lake City. And I’m reading everyone’s blogs about what a good time they’ve had this past week.  And I’m sitting in a very small hotel room in Fairbanks, a zillion miles away, jealous.

I haven’t left the state of Alaska for the last 3 years for goodness sakes – and I don’t have any family research to do here.

Having 5 young kids (and not having any family nearby) makes taking a trip by myself  hard.  But we’re going to be living in Savannah soon and my youngest is almost 2.

I am going to be driving from Georgia to Washington this summer for my brother’s wedding and I’m hoping that I can work in a stop in Salt Lake City for a day or two.

I’ve also decided that I’m going to try to make it to Samford next year.  I’ll be able to drive from Georgia and my husband is fully capable of taking care of the kids – especially a year from now.  I’m just going to plan on doing it and I’ll make it happen.

I’m looking forward to all of the genealogical adventures and educational opportunities in my future!!
